From August 24 to 28, the global water community will come together for SIWI World Water Week 2025 – the conference on water, climate, and sustainable development. This year’s theme, Water for Climate Action, highlights the critical role water plays in climate change mitigation, adaptation, and resilience.

At first glance, a small change may not seem like much. But in sanitation, even the smallest steps can unlock ripple effects that transform entire communities. This is the story we are bringing to the upcoming sessions hosted by the Sustainable Sanitation Alliance (SuSanA) on following mentioned dates:

Take, for example, local entrepreneurs — often micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). With the right training, financing, and mentorship, these everyday business owners become changemakers. They don’t just build toilets or sanitation systems; they create jobs, strengthen local economies, and provide families with dignity and safety.

In the session “Small changes underscore large numbers: The case of MSMEs”, Mr. Valentin Post, Director of growth and innovation at the FINISH Mondial Foundation will share how these enterprises, often overlooked, are in fact the backbone of resilient sanitation markets.

In the second session “Sanitation business and finance: Some thoughts”, Mr. Post, will dive deeper into how our model supports entrepreneurs in delivering climate-resilient, community-driven WASH solutions at scale.
